This book systematically organizes and interprets the core creative thread that artist Zhang Enli has continuously explored since 2007—'Space Painting.' This series of artworks has been shown in prestigious international art museums such as Tate Modern, the Institute of Contemporary Art (ICA) London, the Centre Pompidou, Galleria Borghese, the He Art Museum, and the Long Museum.
In 2022, Zhang Enli’s site-specific project A Cheerful Person at the San Rocco Church in Montabone, Italy, marked a mature and culminating phase in his 'Space Painting' practice. Zhang Enli’s work has always focused on "the everyday spaces of people." Through his highly personal, interactive, and expansive painting language, it transcends specific cultural contexts and temporal limitations, resonating with audiences across different regions and creating a painting space that is both relaxed and brimming with vital energy.
