Wishing on Starfish

Celia Herring has lost her daughter, left her nursing career, and her marriage has crumbled. She is alone and knee-deep in grief, despair, and disillusionment, and doesn’t know which way to turn, until she decides to visit the beach house that Granny Vera left her in the will. The fresh air and new perspective seem to be just what she needs, but her life soon becomes complicated as sparks fly when she meets the local sheriff, who is coping with a tragedy of his own, and she learns that the long-time caretaker of her grandmother’s house is not at all who he seems.

When her son arrives unexpectedly after getting kicked out of college, and promptly befriends a runaway teen with a dark secret, Celia's life feels as if it is spiraling hopelessly out of control. But somehow, in the midst of all the confusion, Celia confronts her past, learns to love again, and finds her way back to a relationship with God. And what she finds in the end is an unlikely group of people who work through their own issues and despair to band together to create a new family, which is just what she had been wishing for!
