We Were Supposed to Find This

Every thirty years, the small farm town of Aurora is washed in light from Harmony’s Comet. Local legends claim strange things happen when it appears in the sky: People disappear. Some say they slip through time.

The comet is due back this summer, but grieving Everly wants nothing to do with this reminder of her late mother. Then she meets the perfect distraction: fiery-haired and playful Sam, who’s obsessed with nineties music and actual cameras. She puts Everly instantly at ease, but vanishes just as suddenly as she appeared.

When Everly accidentally slips thirty years into the past, she finds herself in 1998, where the Backstreet Boys and dial-up internet reign and no one’s ever heard of a smartphone. There, she finds Sam again— and comes face-to-face with the unimaginable: her teenage mom.

Determined to understand this rip in time, Everly begins digging into the comet’s link to local disappearances with the help of her mom and Sam. Because she has to find a way home...right?

But soon, Everly exposes dark secrets. Time may be malleable, but not every change is for the better. If Everly isn’t careful, she’ll risk an altered future— one without her mother or the girl she’s falling for.
