A Boy’s Struggle for Survival in a Nazi-occupied Paris.
Joffo, an honest Jewish hairdresser living in Nazi-occupied Paris, decided to send his family off to different places to escape from the cruel and possible destiny that could await them. His children, Joseph (the author) and Maurice, ten and twelve years-old, must learn to survive on their own in a deranged world in which barbarism, friendship, ingenuity and, above all, fear, will teach them the law of survival.
