The Witches Damned

Each generation of the Serpent Witch lived a long life of solitude, keeping the balance of life with an ancient magic, and when Morgana’s turn finally came, she huddled alone in the forest with only the snakes for company. The world was better for it. Anyone who could extinguish thousands of lives with a single thought was more weapon than human.

Aveline, a woman of the sea, was the first to draw the Serpant Witch out of hiding in many years. She arrived at Morgana’s door in the land’s territory with news of a budding war, and a plea for help. Morgana, eager to cause something other than damage and death, agreed to join Aveline in the sea kingdom; to attempt to end an unjust King’s reign before it could spiral out of control.

But witches can never escape their fate, and a betrayal tears the women apart as a wall of water invaded the land, eating away at the kingdom’s border, until one day, nothing would remain but a single territory beneath the waves. Two hundred years after everything fell apart, Aveline came to Morgana once more to finish what they started.
