The Neglected C.S. Lewis (Exploring the Riches of His Most Overlooked Books)

Who hasn’t heard of Narnia, Aslan or the White Witch? While C.S. Lewis and many of his books have become a household name, most don’t know that he was an astute critic and scholar of literature in general, and medieval and renaissance literature in particular. The Neglected C.S. Lewis seeks to revive eight of Lewis’ lesser-known literary critical works and bring them into the light of attention they deserve. It is the authors’ contention that these books—often not known even by avid readers of Lewis—contain many of his best ideas and are themselves doors into a moral education of the literature and thought of specific historical periods. Without knowing these works, one can’t claim to know Lewis as an author or individual. It is the authors’ hope that this current volume will help bridge this gap.
