The Kingdom of Rising Nightmares

Cal’s friends, Thea and Oliver, have left him for dead, surrounded by monsters in the Labyrinth. Thea stabbed him, and Oliver probably would, too, now that he knows Cal is the reason the magicians' order caged his magic and exiled him. But Cal’s not dead yet. Another magician saves him and takes him back to their magic school to recover. They want his help with a mission to kill a gathering of monsters back on earth. This mission might be his only opportunity to find his friends and convince them that the magicians' order is the best hope to keep humanity safe.

Back on earth, Thea and Oliver return to Barrens’ Peak only to find it overrun with monsters. Thea is new to her magic, and Oliver’s is recovering but unpredictable. They flee knowing they can’t help anyone until they find a mentor who can train them. They find and join Ash, a magic-savvy teen, who will lead them to an enchanted night market where a magician exiled from the order can help them.

Set on a collision course, our trio will have to confront the monsters they’ve fought and the monsters they’ve become to keep humanity safe.
