The Glubb Reports: Glubb Pasha and Britain's Empire Project in the Middle East 1920-1956

The Glubb Reports studies the papers written by General Sir John Glubb, the long-serving British commander of the Jordanian Arab Legion. During his career in Iraq and Jordan, Glubb wrote a considerable number of documents that are of great historical interest. This book uses these reports to explain Glubb's views on some of the most significant historical developments in the Middle East during the mid-20th century. These include Glubb's notable contribution to desert control in Iraq and Jordan, which led to the control of the tribal population and their incorporation into the state, as well as the issue of Palestine.
