When Annabelle starts going to a new high school for her junior year, she hopes she can fit in and make friends while building a following for her increasingly popular online baking videos. But when the bitter sting of rejection from classmates leaves a bad taste in her mouth, Annabelle does the unthinkable: she creates a fake social media profile using photos of her favorite fashion influencer, Jessica. Suddenly, Annabelle has more friend requests than she can handle, including one from a cute boy named Luis.

At first, Annabelle loves the attention, especially when Luis tells her how beautiful she is. But as their connection grows stronger, Annabelle can't escape the feeling that, with her false new persona, she is not only lying to Luis but catfishing him.
