Die gotische Hallenkirche St. Quintin in Mainz vermittelt als einstiger Bestandteil der ältesten Mainzer Pfarrei durch ihre Weite und Helligkeit den ursprünglichen Eindruck dieser Bauart. Nach den Zerstörungen des Zweiten Weltkriegs wurde sie umfassend saniert und wertvolle Ausstattungsstücke aus anderen Mainzer Kirchen fanden in ihr einen neuen Platz, so z.B. ein Vesperbild aus dem 15. Jahrhundert und die barocken Seitenaltäre der Georgskirche. So konnten die starken Kriegsverluste der Ausstattung ausgeglichen werden und erneut eine Einheit von Architektur und Ausstattung erreicht werden.
