Overview
Aubrey shines on both the soccer field and the volleyball court.
When she and her friend Cammie make the competitive travel soccer team, she's thrilled. She'll get the opportunity to focus on her role as a defensive player.
But playing on the travel team means Aubrey and her best friend, Zuri, won't be on the same rec team for the first time ever. And more soccer practices and games mean Aubrey won't have time for their middle school volleyball team either. She just doesn't know how to tell Zuri about volleyball yet.
So Aubrey decides not to! Instead, she's determined to play both sports this fall.
At first, Aubrey loves it. She can already tell that the new soccer drills are going to bring out her best. But when school and volleyball start up, the cracks begin to show. Soon she's mixing up her busy practice and game schedule—and bringing her soccer cleats to volleyball practice! She doesn't even know when she'll have time to finish her homework. And Zuri seems jealous of all the time Aubery is spending with Cammie at soccer.
Can Aubrey find a way to manage it all and be a good friend? Or does she need to admit she may have taken more than she can chew?
