Overview
This is Volume 2 THE MONOPOLY ISSUE AND ANTITRUST 1900-1917, part of a compilation of 12 articles on BUSINESS AND GOVERNMENT IN AMERICA SINCE 1870 and provides a very broad and representative selection of the scholarly literature found in learned journals on the subject of government-business relations in the age of industry, the period since 1870. This period is traditionally known as the Progressive Era. Contemporaries, and historians after them, conceived of it as a period of seminal reform. These are the years of Presidents Theodore Roosevelt and Woodrow Wilson (1901-1909 and 1913-1921, respectively), each regarded as reformers of major stature.
