Overview
ENGLISH DESCRIPTION
A novel about love and loyalty.
Natalia Junquera’s fiction debut is a brave novel full of love for Galicia.
Milagros is one of those Galician villages where the men emigrate, and the women wait for their return. Lola and her husband Manuel agreed that he would be in Argentina for three years, but after having made a couple of visits, he disappears and stops all communication with Lola. While the rest of the neighbors’ husbands return from America, Lola keeps her life in limbo, looking for justifications for the lack of news from Manuel. Her main support is Pablo, her brother-in-law, who secretly writes every night to the woman who wakes up every day wanting someone else's letter. Manuel's return, two decades later, will turn upside-down a seemingly quiet village that is full of secrets.
