Inmitten der Gebäudetürme der Hochfinanz steht beinahe bescheiden, aus rotem Mainsandstein erbaut, eines der wichtigsten Gebäude der deutschen Geschichte. Von 1789 bis 1833 errichtet, diente die Paulskirche bis 1944 als evangelische Hauptkirche Frankfurts.
