Overview
Never before has an introduction to theology been as necessary as What Is Theology For? by Alberto F. Roldán, because in many Latin American churches, unfortunately, anti-intellectualism remains entrenched, assuming that seriously studying theology means attributing unnecessary superiority to reason. As if thinking about faith (or its contents) were a task whose results threaten spirituality or Christian growth beforehand. Required reading for anyone concerned with affirming the irreplaceable role of theology in the life of churches that desire to remain faithful to the Gospel of Jesus Christ. We should not only rejoice and thank God for the works of an evangelical theologian like Roldán, but also feel them as an invitation to participate together in that search.
