Murder Most Fowl

Matilda Smithwick has her hands full. With her thriving dog walking business to tend to and her best friend Dottie’s wedding to help plan, she’s more than busy. But when Pastor Robin Aylesbury, the would-be officiant for the upcoming nuptials, is murdered, Dottie insists that Maddie find the killer—before her wedding day.

Enticed by the opportunity to collaborate with the alluring Detective Murphy (as well as the chance to best the cantankerous Detective Fitzwilliam), Maddie takes the case only to find that it’s much more complicated than it seems. As she hunts for clues, she’s confronted by an almost nonexistent suspect list and an alarming lack of leads. The investigation takes her to church Bingo night, group yoga, a road trip to Iowa, and a harrowing trek through a bird sanctuary, all while preparing for Dottie’s latest walk down the aisle. She’s “helped” by a cadre of assistants as well as Dottie’s well-intentioned (but seldom beneficial) support.

Just when she’s about to give up, Maddie discovers a dark secret in the victim’s past, something worth killing over. But can she catch the killer before the “I dos”?
