In this new case, Maigret is determined to find the murderer of a criminal who turns out to be an old acquaintance.
Inspector Maigret is supposed to be working to apprehend the gangs of thieves terrorizing Paris, yet a body appears in the Bois de Boulogne. It turns out to be a thief he had known for several years and for whom he couldn’t help but feel a certain affection. Disregarding his superiors’ orders, the commissioner decides to investigate who murdered his old acquaintance, even if this puts him in terrible danger.
