Overview
ENGLISH DESCRIPTION
A crude, harsh, and raw novel told in a very personal narrative style. A necessary and crucial story whose text invites readers to learn about each character one by one as they present a poignant story about the holocaust.
Nina is a 20-year-old journalism student who must clear out her grandfather’s personal library. Inside a Nazi propaganda book, she finds eight letters originally sent to her grandfather that allow her to get closer to her unknown past. Her grandfather had escaped the Nazis but would never speak much about it.
Within his silence lies a heartbreaking story about love and survival; about the present, the past, loss, and inevitable suffering; and about the luck of a borrowed name that twists his destiny and allows his life to prevail.
Borrowed Names received an Honorable Mention in the Young Adult category at the 2015 Los Destacados de Alija Prize.
