Looking Back to Look Forward: AUPHA at 70

For 70 years, the Association of University Programs in Health Administration (AUPHA) has been devoted to its mission to foster excellence and drive innovation in health management and policy education. It is the only non-profit entity of its kind that works to improve the delivery of health services—and thus the health of citizens throughout the world, by educating professional managers.

 

Looking Back to Look Forward: AUPHA at 70, edited by Michael R. Meacham, JD, tells the stories of how AUPHA has evolved since its inception in 1948. Unveiled during AUPHA’s 2018 Annual Meeting, this special history book documents many of the accomplishments and ongoing challenges faced by those who worked tirelessly to build AUPHA. Their stories explore how AUPHA has fostered developing quality healthcare management education, improved the quality of healthcare management, and, ultimately, developed leaders who possess the values and competencies necessary to drive improvement throughout the health system.
