  • Overview

    ENGLISH DESCRIPTION

At the age of twenty-six, Anabé was told she had cancer on her face. That was the beginning of everything.

This book is the true account of that experience. But it is not a self-help book, nor a therapeutic diary, nor a lesson in overcoming adversity. The Last Floor is a novel of autofiction that transforms illness into literature, hospital routine into theater of the absurd, fear into humor, pain into desire.
Here there are endless corridors and labyrinthine hospitals, but there is also sex, childhood, tambourines, imaginary interviews with God, and weddings without partners. It is a work about the process of maturing and life changes. The narrative is constructed as a play on genres: a free and courageous mixture of fable, essay, diary, poetry, and theater. Genres to tell what cannot be said in a single form.

Because everything starts with literature. And everything—even the rawest things—can become literature.
