Overview
Jeff Wall: Appearance is published on the occasion of a major solo exhibition of Canadian photo artist Jeff Wall at Kunsthalle Mannheim, Germany, and Mudam Luxembourg. Jeff Wall is best known for his large-format back-lit lightbox photographs which appear to be extravagantly composed film-stills. Alongside his lightboxes and black-and-white photographs, a third central group of works to be exhibited are his color C-Prints. The exhibition, which includes numerous works on loan from international institutions, offers a new perspective on works which have rarely been presented in exhibitions.
