Overview
Helena is a college dropout hiding away with her grandmother in a small town in the interior of Portugal when she finds a small amulet that gives her powers she cannot control. Upon witnessing the beginning of a possible abuse in the parish, the amulet causes her to transform into a magical girl. In the aftermath, the village (and country) goes into an uproar at what they believe to be an apparition of Mary, mother of Jesus.
Helena attempts to navigate her new powers and uncertain situation with the help of her ex-nun friend Ana and a cat who seems somehow connected to the mysterious amulet.
