Overview
Ilona Keserü, Kossuth- and Munkácsy prize-winning painter and graphic artist, an unavoidable figure of contemporary Hungarian art, will celebrate her 90th birthday on November 29, 2023. On this occasion, the Hungarian National Gallery will present her graphic oeuvre - paper-based works, drawings and reproduced graphics - paying homage to the artist with a standing exhibition. The selection presents the works of more than seven decades, starting with his student years at Ferenc Martyn, through vibrant screen prints to soft line ink drawings. The displayed graphics come from the artist's studio in Budapest, some of them have never been shown before in front of the general public. During the joint selection of the works, Ilona Keserü recalled and narrated many of her memories, which were either related to the creation of the works or to her life.
