Hineini: Here I Am (The Biblical Response to Life's Greatest Challenges)

An invitation to live a life of courageous presence.

The Hebrew word Hineini—“Here I am”—appears throughout the Bible at pivotal moments. Abraham says it before the greatest test of his life. Moses answers with it before leading a nation. Isaiah speaks it when he is called to serve. This ancient word still has the power to transform your heart and change your life.

In this deeply personal and spiritually rich book, Yael Eckstein—President and CEO of the International Fellowship of Christians and Jews—explores what it means to stop hiding, step forward, and answer God’s call in the ordinary and extraordinary moments of life. Drawing from timeless Jewish wisdom, biblical stories, and her own experiences leading one of Israel’s largest humanitarian organizations through seasons of profound challenge, she shows that living with an attitude of hineini is less about having all the answers and more about making ourselves fully available—to God, to others, and to the purpose for which we were created.

Through moving stories, practical insights, and fresh perspectives on familiar biblical passages, Hineini offers readers a pathway to greater faith, deeper relationships, and a renewed sense of calling. It reminds us that God is not looking for perfection or extraordinary ability; He is looking for willing hearts that will simply say, “Here I am.”

Whether you are facing uncertainty, waiting for direction, or longing to live with greater purpose, Hineini will inspire you to step out from fear, embrace God’s presence, and discover the extraordinary power of answering His call, in many different circumstances that feel impossible to handle— with one faithful “Here I am” at a time.
