  • Overview

Beatrix Farrand (1872&ndash1959) stands among the leading twentieth-century landscape architects. A founding member (and first woman) of the American Society for Landscape Architects, Farrand created more than two hundred private gardens and landscapes in the United States and Great Britain. She was also an expert archivist who pressed and preserved over nine hundred specimens from her garden in Maine.
