Overview
Hammerhead loves to find sunken junk and turn it into treasure. He loves his creations, and he especially loves that he made them all by himself. One day he finds an old sunken ship that he knows will be perfect for the ultimate fort.
He hammers and hits, builds and bites . . . but it's harder than he thought. Other sea creatures come by to offer help, but Hammerhead is determined to do it himself. He wants it to be just right and he does not need help! It's his fort and he's going to do it his way.
But this turns out to be one whale of a project! When it all comes crashing down, Hammerhead realizes that maybe working together won't be so bad after all. Includes a Note to Adult Readers by the author with more information on talking to kids about cooperation and asking for help.
