There are also those who say that pregnancies will become shorter as the technology to create artificial uteruses improves, and that it’s only a matter of time before human life is conceived and developed without the need for a maternal womb. But before speculating about how the babies of the future will be created, it’s important to understand the process of human conception and gestation.
Pregnancy, the incredible process of gestation, must be approached from a variety of perspectives: those of the gestating mother, the child being gestated, and the families and communities that welcome and support them.
