Freedom Manifesto opens in the summer of 2051 with a leaked news story that Charles Reyburn and former presidential candidate Harvey Jansen are planning a bid to unseat Jefferson Rhodes in the 2052 election. A resurgence of Christianity is the one factor Rhodes cannot control and he becomes obsessed with the threat he perceives Christianity represents. Mike Bardolf begins working on a secret document called Freedom Manifesto which outlines massive changes to turn the United States into a country unrecognizable from its historic roots.
