Forties Fabrics

We often think of the 1940s as a decade filled with drab tones of grey and black reflecting a period of war and post-war rebuilding. To our surprise, fabrics of the decade jump off the pages of Forties Fabrics with vibrant colors in florals, stripes, checks and plaids. The early part of the decade saw a profusion of designs shown primarily in patriotic colors of red, white, and blue, many of them in patterns of stars and stripes, navy and airplane themes.
