There are four billion women in the world, yet we still have to argue for equality.Yes, there is progress. But inequality and oppositiion persist everywhere. Equality isn't just about equal rights in the law; it is about our fundamental human right to live lives that are rich and full and fair — to go where we want and be who we want and wear what we want and love who we want.

The world is failing women and girls. This isn't just a minor glitch; it's a pervasive inequality that could take generations to fix. Even with some gains, women still get shortchanged in education — with millions of girls out of school and countless women illiterate; in healthcare — with rights to control our own bodies under attack; in the economy — with less pay and more unpaid care work; in politics — with a fraction of leadership roles. This fight isn't over, it's just getting started.

This book is a call to action, a call to join together to overcome the overwhelm, to strengthen the resistance, and ultimately to make inequality just that little bit less common. it is a call to hope.
