Overview
Black Mirror meets Goosebumps in this fast-paced middle-grade horror series featuring tales of technology gone wrong by New York Times bestselling authors Erin Entrada Kelly and Eliot Schrefer. In this standalone installment, an engineered rat must escape the basement of a twelve-year-old mad scientist or join his ratpack of increasingly monstrous creations.
Yellowtail is born into a basement cage with advanced intelligence and strange memories of a life he never lived. He doesn't understand why…until he realizes he's an engineered rat, cloned by a twelve-year-old mad genius named Garvish. Yellowtail watches helplessly as Garvish feverishly amps up his experimentations. When Garvish creates something more murderous than he ever imagined, Yellowtail is scrambling just to survive. His only friend is a carpenter ant named Pest. As more twisted cloned rats emerge, Yellowtail doesn't know who to trust: Pest? The bloodthirsty rats that want him to join them? Garvish? Or—perhaps—none of the above.
Will he be able to make it out alive?
