Overview
ENGLISH DESCRIPTION
Mar García Puig —the great literary discovery of 2023— returns with an essay about literature, women, metaphors, and the hidden power they contain.
We live surrounded by metaphors, barely aware of the weapon we hold in our hands. For a metaphor does not only represent what already is, but also what we can imagine—and as such, it can give life, but also take it away. Women, so often made the flesh of metaphor, know this all too well. Against today’s tendency toward literalness and purity, this work stands as a manifesto in defense of darkness and the power of its metaphors—a handbook for outwitting life through the transformative force of literature.
The Endebate collection is home to short texts that express an opinion, defend an attitude, or tell a story. They are more an appetizer than a feast—designed to spark conversation rather than satisfy it, to begin a banquet rather than conclude one. Like the finest bites, they are pleasing to the eye and leave a lasting aftertaste.
