Overview
With the Enneagram as its foundation, this examination describes the nine different personality types distinguished by this ancient Sufi teaching and demonstrates how each individual possesses one dominant type that determines his way of feeling about and perceiving the world. More than simply providing an analytic description of each character type, however, this guide shows how the Enneagram itself proposes antidotes to the shortcomings of each personality type. These antidotes lead to greater freedom and increased creativity and spontaneity when dealing with changing circumstances. In order to more vividly illustrate the central theme of the book, a section is included that uses nine characters from Honoré de Balzac’s work as examples of the personality types.
