Joseph K. arrives in a village to work as a land surveyor. He has been summoned to provide his services. However, before he can begin his work, he must clarify certain matters with the authorities of a castle that looms over the village and controls its domain, and obtain their approval. What follows is Joseph K.’s endless journey through the village streets in an attempt to gain access to the castle’s authorities and finally carry out his task.
