His characters are consumed by longing, boredom caused by marital routine, jealousy, and infidelity. Among other figures, we encounter a husband who wakes up every day next to his wife, only to realize that he no longer desires her as he once did; a man who jealously watches his wife from a distance as she spends time with strangers who seem to seduce her, and a woman who writes a list of grievances in which she reproaches her husband for having stopped loving her.
