Overview
Hartmann von Aue war der erste deutsche Dichter, der in seinem Versroman „Erec“ von König Artus und der Tafelrunde erzählt hat. Die Einführung gibt zunächst eine ausführliche Inhaltsanalyse, in der auf Eigenheiten der Figurendarstellung, der Erzählhaltung und des Verhältnisses zu der französischen Vorlage eingegangen wird. Weitere Kapitel behandeln den Überlieferungsbefund, die Bauform und die Poetik des Romans, den Erzählstil, Stoff und Quellen sowie die Wirkungsgeschichte. Anliegen der Darstellung ist es, den Stand der Forschung sichtbar zu machen und zugleich durch neue Fragen zur Beschäftigung mit dem Text anzuregen.
