Overview
Death in Coab a Bay is a thrilling tale set in Victorian Bombay—a city where dreams are realized and nightmares are lived.
Bombay, 1898. In a bustling, modern port city marked by both great wealth and deep deprivation, three young girls go missing from a prominent “native” school. Their families are frantic with worry.
Tara Bai, a young widow and heiress with strong social connections, is an alumna of the school. Intrigued and alarmed, she agrees—at the request of the school’s founder and principal—to help the grieving families.
Arun Rao, a promising young police officer recently transferred from Poona to the Bombay police, is assigned to the case. Known for solving complex crimes, he quickly becomes immersed in the investigation.
When one of the missing girls is found dead on the shores of Coab a Bay, the case takes a darker turn. The crime bears uncanny similarities to earlier cases from central India involving the royal family of Jaiwar.
A chance meeting at the home of one of the victims brings Tara and Arun together. As they join forces, they must unravel a mystery that points to a ruthless killer—one who has already struck and will not hesitate to kill again.
