Living Architecture (Contextual Design in Urban and Rural Settings)

How do you design a distinctive building that also fits seamlessly into its context? How do you add value to a site yet at the same time acknowledge its identity? Architecture in Context attempts to answer these questions with a carefully selected series of international, public/private, large- and small-scale projects, all of which demonstrate just that sensitivity to their environmental, cultural and social contexts. Every project is accompanied by a descriptive and critical text and illustrated with photographs and drawings, ranging from initial concept sketches through to detailed construction drawings.
