Commentary on The Gospel of Mark
The CLIE Commentary series based on the Gospel of Mark is an essential text for the study of Christianity, since it exposes the messianic life of Jesus in detail, developing the first theology based on it. The plot of Mark's Gospel and the basis of its argument were used directly by Matthew and Luke, and indirectly by John.
Author Xavier Pikaza has included a variety of diagrams and tables, as well as explanatory texts inserted in the text itself or listed at the end of the different sections, which serve as a summary, and which help to draw connections with topics of current interest. In addition, an elaborate subject index is included, listed in order of appearance in the Gospel text, alphabetically and by subject, to facilitate a coordinated view of Mark's thought, themes and theology in relation to a variety of specific topics.
Certainly, in the vision of Christianity, Paul's contribution remains essential; but without the story of Jesus offered by Mark, Paul's theology would have ended up losing its uniqueness, which is inseparable from the humanity of Jesus.
