Overview
Connie Kang is the cover artist for Character Design Quarterly 41. Her iconic animal-to-human illustrations have earned her a huge following online. For this issue, Connie creates a brand-new image for the cover, talks to us about her career in game development, and shares how the cover image was created.
Michael Schupbach is an Emmy-award winning art director, creative director, and puppeteer. In a first for CDQ, Michael builds us an exclusive puppet, showing how character design skills transfer into the real world. As well as an in-depth tutorial on the puppet's construction, Michael speaks to us about his illustrious career, including his time working on Sesame Street.
Lobón Leal is an illustrator and concept artist, who recently successfully funded a unique sketchbook project on Kickstarter. In a full-length feature Lobón takes us through a series of tips and principles for getting the most out of your sketchbook, with plenty of practical examples and beautiful artwork. The issue also features tutorials by Zephy, Aurélien Galvan, Ting X, Anna Quaranta, Marcel Mosqi, Georgi Georgiev, and Mali Benedicto Vasanserekul.
