Kaiser Wilhelm II. ließ Cecilienhof 1913 bis 1917 für seinen ältesten Sohn Kronprinz Wilhelm und seine Gemahlin Kronprinzessin Cecilie im Norden des Neuen Gartens errichten. Durch die historisch bedingte, sehr unterschiedliche Nutzung des Schlosses wurden einige Räume in ihrer ursprünglichen Ausstattung stark verändert. Heute bietet das Schloss die einmalige Gelegenheit, am authentischen Ort die weltpolitisch bedeutsamen Ereignisse der Potsdamer Konferenz nachzuvollziehen. Seit April 2012 präsentiert sich den zahlreichen internationalen Besuchern die informative Dauerausstellung in neuem Gewand.
