Overview
During an unprecedented moment in music’s history, a team of photographers, producers, designers, and collaborators led by Amber Mundinger, Tamara Deike and Kevin Condon came together to document the collective experience of the pandemic and its impact on live performance. BRING MUSIC HOME is a time capsule of interviews—all conducted during the height of the pandemic—and exclusive portraiture photography of more than 375 individuals by renowned photographers including Pooneh Ghana, Misha Vladimirskiy, Pilar Zeta, Matt Leif Anderson, and Josh Sisk. Locations span over thirty cities and include Stubb’s, Baby’s All Right, Tipitinas, The Empty Bottle, Boot & Saddle, The Fillmore, and 9:30 Club, and conversations with artists such as Alice Cooper, Dehd, Native Sun, The Black Angels, Shakey Graves, Jesse Malin, Hollis Brown, and many more. With every book purchased, a portion of the proceeds will benefit the National Independent Venue Association (NIVA) to support the hundreds of thousands of venue workers —bar staff, sound technicians, security and countless others that have been displaced due to the pandemic. Each page of BRING MUSIC HOME captures the essence and unique character of music venues across North America during a time when live music ceased everywhere and forever changed our appreciation and love for live performance. The stories captured in BRING MUSIC HOME encompass personal and moving accounts from venue owners, longstanding staff, and the celebrated artists who performed there.
