Ever since Belissar was saved by a bee core, accidentally claimed a tower, and became a force to be reckoned with, he’s tried to lead his minions and allies with peace in mind. But harmony between the realms may be moving beyond his reach.

After defeating the predatory spiderkin, Belissar made the controversial decision to spare their unhatched eggs, angering the karnuq under his protection. Not to mention the Hunger’s still scratching at their doors. And things are getting more complicated outside the tower as well . . .

Now, Belissar must prepare for the Conclave of tower lords marching toward them while also navigating political alliances with the fair folk. But the eventual proposed agreement is full of twists and warped wordsmithing that make it perilous in and of itself.

As if all that weren’t enough—and as Belissar desperately maintains the delicate balance keeping his world safe—the gods themselves are maneuvering their own disciples into position for a war that could mean the end of them all.
