A death that might have been prevented? A new challenge for Hercule Poirot’s little grey cells.
Hercule Poirot receives a letter from Paul Renauld, who tells him that he fears for his life and urges him to come to his aid. Thus, together with his friend Captain Hastings, the detective quickly heads to northern France to assist his new client. However, they arrive too late: Renauld’s body lies stabbed in the middle of a golf course.
As Poirot investigates the crime scene and the possible suspects, he discovers another body murdered in the same way as the first, and with the same weapon. What do these men have in common? Who killed them? And why does Poirot keep thinking about a crime committed years earlier?
