  • Overview

A book dedicated to the work of the contemporary architect and designer Antonio Obrador. A collection of projects ranging from restorations to new buildings and hotels.

Antonio Obrador is a designer from Mallorca, the largest of the Balearic Islands. He is de facto so, because here he was born in 1956, here he grew up, here he approached the world of design until he established his professional studio there, founded in 1980, and carried out a great many projects in all phases of his career. He is even more conceptually and more deeply so because his work finds an essential source of nourishment in human history, built matter and the natural landscapes of the island.

His projects shown in the book, those of rehabilitation of the existing as well as those of new construction, are as many proposals for sensitive and respectful intervention in his landscapes. They could be described as “declarations of love” by a Majorcan to Majorca, all the more important in decades of strong real estate development and the intersection, on his lands, of foreign interests and capital.
