Overview
Spring has arrived, the meadow is in bloom, and Amillie is about to show young readers just how a caterpillar becomes a butterfly.
In this colorful board book in the Little Heroes for Little Ones series, young readers meet Amillie, a graceful butterfly ready to guide them through her own hidden world from a sunny meadow bursting into bloom, to a nettle patch where tiny yellow eggs are waiting to hatch, to the moment a fuzzy little caterpillar spins herself into a chrysalis.
With gentle, read-aloud storytelling, children follow the full butterfly life cycle from egg to hungry caterpillar to chrysalis to shimmering, full-grown butterfly. Look closely on every page for one busy little ant, hiding among the leaves and flowers and daring young readers to find him.
Perfect for curious young nature-lovers, Amillie the Butterfly blends real science with warmth and gentle humor, turning the quiet magic of metamorphosis into a story young readers will want to return to again and again.
