Overview
WILL THEY LOSE EVERYTHING THEY LOVE?
It’s been three and a half years since the Lin siblings emigrated from Taiwan, and they’ve grown comfortable living apart from their parents. With Jesse (Jia-Xi) away at college and Jason (Ke-Gāng) now in charge, Ann (Feng-Li) is fully embracing the life of a thirteen-year-old. She hangs out with friends, crushes on a boy, and secretly adopts a dog! Meanwhile, Sis struggles with her law studies at Berkeley and questions her choice, while Bro longs to come out to his father but fears the consequences.
So when Mama and Baba join them in San Francisco, and Mama announces she is staying, the news is met with mixed feelings. Suddenly, everything about the kids’ lives is being scrutinized: They are too American, developing strange practices, and losing their Taiwanese values and identity. As the conflicts escalate, Baba threatens to uproot them again! Can the siblings band together to show their parents that while they'll always value their Taiwanese heritage, they are American kids now?
