  • Overview

    ENGLISH DESCRIPTION

To forge free and authentic ties with others, we must first learn to enjoy our own company.

Solitude is one of the most intense and painful emotions. Proof of this is the lengths we go to avoid it.  Most adults are socio-dependent, addicted to social nicotine; in other words, the irrational need to in constant contact with other people. It’s society’s most common addiction, but also the one that’s most overlooked. Who is brave enough to be alone, emotionally naked, and confront the painful feelings inside?

This book is a therapeutic journey. It is conceived as a process of social detox that culminates in facing our worst fear: being abandoned. Among other lessons, it teaches us to stop using others to fill our existential emptiness and compensate for our lack of self-love. It urges us to revisit our childhood and reconcile with our inner child. Only by doing so can we become what we were destined to be: our own best friend, and to discover that we are never (completely) alone.
