In an England torn apart by wars, civil conflict, and revolution, Winston Smith struggles to survive in a one-room apartment in the bleak province of Airstrip One. When he meets Julia, who shares his disdain for Big Brother, their clandestine love affair offers a fleeting glimpse of freedom.
