    Reproducing a silk, wool, and metal-thread embroidery created for the marquise de Montespan (1641–1707), mistress to Louis XIV, this design captures fruits, flowers, and even a lobster basking in a summery glow. The embroidery was created around 1683 and once hung at the Palais Royal, Paris.
